These threads are driving me insane. For the last time there is nothing better about an ls/vtec motor. People did it because it's cheap. All your getting is 50cc of displacement. THAT'S IT! There is nothing wrong with it but it's not any faster than a gsr motor, it's not better than a gsr motor, it's definitely not better than a type r motor. The block doesn't oil as good as the vtec blocks and the rods are weaker. There is nothing wrong with it, it's just supposed to be a cheap way of getting power. SAVE MONEY. You take the vtec head and stick it on, done. For some reason some tards started throwing all sorts of money into a block that's not as good. If you wanted the extra displacement go get a damn ls crank and put it in a gsr block. Better yet get a H22 crank, that's even more displacement.

B18C: $$

LS/VTEC: $$ consider parts/tuning/parts breaking/retuning
You don't need to tune an ls/vtec motor if that's all your doing. You can run one safely off a gsr/type r ecu. It's once you start raising compression, changing cams, then you need to tune, but that's with any motor.
