The reason why the difference is so huge is because the top picture is a REFLECTOR housing headlight, while the bottom is a PROJECTOR (and specifically a HID procector) headlight.You're just replacing the stock projector. Your OEM headlights would work for this. Aftermarket headlights would be the best choice because they don't have the cut-off line. Best source for HID retrofit info:HID Planet!!. There is still a cutoff line with 3rd gen headlights, although it is certainly not as crisp. The cars that should not get HIDs at all cost are ones with reflector housings (late model Civics and DA's)
