HELP W/ High RPMs

this problem began a couple weeks ago. my car started idling high. its like the idle has a mind of its own. one buddy of mine said the spring where the throttle cable was worn out. then i had another homie check it out, and he said the cable was too tight n i shud relace the throttle body altogether.when im driving, rpms dont go down.when im idling ithe rpms get to about 2 grand and stay there until i tap the gas pedal. i dunno what is wrong. any ideas? suggestions? past experience?

Sounds like i prob i had not sure how to explain: Ok on the back side of your TB or Intake mani there is a little metal plate thing you must take off then turn the white ring inside righty tighty. its not to clear but its a start

that is your idle adjustment screw. that doesnt sound like the problem. it sounds to me like your throttle cable is getting stuck. replace the throttle cable and see if that solves it.
