you can get an MSD ignition if you want, some people feel that its not needed unless you're using for a high HP application.

anyhow to answer your original question, yes you can still use the MSD.

here's some products to look at:
http://www.msdignition.com/info.aspx?taxid=4&taxid2=94

the wiring diagrams can basically be found in the download section of each product...

for example this is for the 6A:
http://www.msdignition.com/uploadedFiles/MSDIgnitioncom/Products/Ignitions/6420_instructions.pdf

instructions start on page 21

also. with hondata, theres a couple different systems, s100, s200, and s300

even though the s200 is discontinued, it still uses the same romeditor as the s100 system

the s300 on the other hand uses SManager.

where are you getting the hondata installed? an authorized dealer should be able to put a basemap on it for you.
i was going to use the s300, is it easy to install hondata oneself instead of tking it somewere? would a dealer be a good place to have it installed and have a basemap? as long as they wont put a lock on it so i can change it later.

you could if you wanted to. you really should have experience with electronics and soldering.

also here's the link to the SManager software.

they already have a basemap for the LS (P74) under "calibrations" folder.

honestly installation of the unit isn't that expensive, hondata does it for $100 (boost unit) otherwise its $75 for just the regular socketing service.

is the LS and the RS going to be the same?

when you say hondata will do it for around $100 is that a hondata dealer or a honda/acura dealer?

LS, GS, RS, they're just trim levels, they all have the same motor, its just that the word "LS" is commonly referred to as the B18A or B18B non vtec motor

and i was referring to hondata themselves, a dealer would probably never modify an ECU.

ok, i figured a dealer would not do it. and as for hondata im assuming that the dealer i bought it from can install it for me, or i would have to send it in to hondata themselve to do it? the closest dealer to me is in houston. so when i guy it should i take my computer in with me have him install it and put a boosted base map on it for me?

i appreciate your time helping me.
