How Do I Tell If My Integra's Jdm Or Usdm?

I have a 1996 integra GSR. The engine is stamped with B18C1 and the first six of the vin are Jh4dc2*******. i heard somewhere along the way that if the vin starts with a *J*, it was produced in japan and shipped over. And that if it starts with a number its USDM and was made over here in the states. i was just wondering how true this is. So what do you guys think, JDM or USDM. any help would be great, thanks!

JDM spec motors are stamped B18C. I have a SiR-G (aka JDM GsR) from a 96 integra from HMotorsonline and it is stamped B18C instead of B18C1. Also you would have a speedometer that isn't in MPH.

US Integras start off with the characters "JH4" then the chassis code.
Easiest way to determine definitely if it's USDM or JDM right off hand is the length of the VIN. True vehicles imported from Japan are given a 10 digit VIN from the DMV of the state they are registered in. They wont have a 17 digit VIN like their US counterparts.
