well getting ready to get my car on the road again in the next few weeks.. its my first boosted honda wondering what i can run for boost and keep my motor together here what ive got...

- JDM B18C GSR from HMO ~40kmi
- Eagle H-Beam rods
- ARP headstuds
- t3/t4 turbo
- 450cc injectors
- ive got skunk2 stage2 cams, i know not a good idea for boost but, i didnt have the money for new ones.

i was thinking about 8-10psi, what do you think? i want to make to a reliable car, i drive it all most everyday.

8-10 does mean anything....You want to have a whp in mind.....300whp would be ideal and depending on your turbo and setup it will determine how much psi you will need.

And 300 would okay to run daily sleeves they down break until typically 400 unless you have a junk motor or something crazy happened. Typically pistons/rods go out before sleeves on 300whp but since you'll have the engine outside the car build it a bit like you mentioned and make it reliable. and 300 whp on the road is i guess safe until you go full throttle then at that point watch out for others. Just dont be dumb on the streets and mind your surrounding

300whp was my goal, i dont want to much because i want to hook up.. and considering i have a JDM B16 tranny, hooking up might be a problem

with headstudes, and the upgraded internals you listed, you should be able to get around 350whp and not worry about wear on your motor due to psi. you should be able to run 12-15 psi and that will PULL!!!! lol

The quality of your tune has more to do with reliability and longevity than your boost pressure and horsepower goal. Considering you don't want any more than 300hp (which can be fine on stock internals with the right tune) it's the primary concern.....assuming your compression and leakdown numbers are healthy.

ok.. thanks for your advice, ill prolly just run 10psi, my motor seems pretty healthy i did a compression test and everything looks good. should i be worried about my stage 2 cams?

okay well, i went to build my motor today and turns out i cant use eagle rods with stock pistons, i should have known that but any way.. i dont have the money for new pistons. im going to run stock internals with my skunk2 cams and arp headstuds, brand new rings, bearings and every gasket in the motor.. do you think i could run 8psi safely with a good tune?

That's fine, but the Skunk2 stage 2s may be a problem for that turbo at that low of a pressure level. All you need are some GS-Rs, but don't go back down to the B16 cams. DSM 450cc injectors would do about 250-280whp.

no man hes gonna get a rising rate fuel pressure regulator, pssh! geeze jk
(he's right tho man you need a tune so save money for that)

Cometic head gasket would help too. That and a GReddy timing belt for that extra safety precaution. 8-10 will be fine for daily driver but you have to know what compression you'll be running on, get a proper tune, and make sure everything is in perfect working condition.

Good luck with the build!!

Here's my $.02 worth. I've had a few of boosted cars...
Take the car to a reputable shop to be tuned. DO NOT run more boost than the tuner sets the car up for. Tell him you want a safe, reliable tune. Stick with what he tells you. If the tuner is stupid and blows your shit up(not likely at a REPUTABLE shop, not your buddy's best friend's sister's cousin's nephew)then it's on the shop and they owe you a motor. If you blow shit up because you tried to run more boost and lean out the motor, it's on you. Find a good tuner you can trust and listen to what he tells you and let him set up the car.
