Ignition Switch Problems.

Good Day Mates,

I am new to the forum, and I have been searching for over two hours for any information on why the ignition cylinder will not turn once it has been installed. The "new" switch has been pulled from another 2000 GSR. It turns and functions as it should while it isn't installed but as soon as I install the cylinder, I can no longer turn the key. Just looking for information as to why this is.

A few notes:

1. This is a project that I have been working on and the car is a complete rebuild. the interior is where I have started.
2. No motor/trans is installed
3. Completely rewiring the car.

If my memory serves me, the switch needs to be turned one notch (Aux) before installing. I put a new one in mine a while ago and remember i had an issue like yours. Try that and see if it works. Hopefully someone else here can assist you more.
