Inner Tie Rod? or Steering box

There is a very loud clanking sound when I turn the wheel like 3 inches one way or other. It struck me as a tie rod, but the outer tie rods seem fine. It sounds like its coming from drivers side right by the inner tie rod, but I wouldn't think it would sound like this. Any ideas?

I replaced one a little while back, and immediately after replacing it, it makes a loud clicking sound constantly when I go slow and turn hard left or right. I think I forgot to add that it does this clank sound while not moving.

It would make snapping sound while turning? I'm pretty sure the clicking is from the axle, but I really just worry about the clanking

if you have a whining sound its the bearing. if its clicking its the axle. if you shake the wheel back and forth while the tire is off the ground and you see movement from the ball joint the tierod end and joint are both bad
