install front aftermarket lip

I have a 94' integra ls. I was looking at adding a front lip. On the OEM front bumper you can remove the bottom piece right below the signal lamps. Can I attach the front lip to there or do I need to remove the rubber molding part and attach it there? The reason why I wanted to install it right there is because I don't want it to be to low to the ground.

What do y'all think? has anyone done it before?
