intermittent ac engagement

so my ac was barely cold and i decided to fill it myself. i know its a bad idea to do but it would only cost me $30.

anywho, after filling, its now cutting on and off repeatedly. sometimes, itll stay on for about 30 seconds, start to get real cold, and then disengage till its not cold again. then re-engage on and off every two seconds.

any ideas??

Sounds like you over pressurized the system. When the high side pressure goes too high the pressure switch will shut off the compressor to protect the system. You need to take it to an AC shop to have the system purged and refilled with the proper amount of R134a.

fixed now. it was underpressure. now its cold and stays engaged :D
