the guy would be smoking 25 cigars (never said complete, it'd be 25 seperate cigars however.)

OR

none, since cigars can never be entirely smoked...(depends on how you want to think about it.)

Three men checked into a hotel room for which they paid $30.
The next day, the manager realized that the men had been overcharged.
She gave the bellhop $5 to return to the three men.
On the way to their room the bellhop decided to keep $2 for himself, and give each of the three men one dollar.
The three men had now paid $9 each, or a total of $27.
This plus the $2 the bellhop kept makes a total of $29.
What happened to the other dollar?

The bellhop kept $2 on his own without the 3 men knowing. When the bellhop returned the $3 refund, the 3 men decided to give the bellhop a $2 tip. In return leaving the 3 men with a $1 refund and the bellhop running away with a $4 tip.

Thats the only thing I can think of as an explanation.

nothing happened to the other dollar.

the rooms were 25$/3 rooms. the bellhop took an additional 2 dollars. that's 27 dollars. then the 3 dollars change.

edit: also, one man paid 9 dollars for his room already. 9 + 8 + 8 = 25. so the 2 dollars the bellhop stole are from the 8 dollar payments. then the 3 dollars in change, so each man gets 1 dollar on top of that.

if the bellhop kept 2 bucks, then he gave the guys 28 dollars, not 27.

3 guys paid 30 dollars
overcharged so he gave back 5 dollars
bellhop takes 2 of that 5
so ...
each guy gets one dollar, which is 25+3, therefore 28 dollars

then the next day they all find out the bellhop ripped them off and then kick his ass and handcuff him behind the ice machine
