Is it possible to disable the limiter on a gsr?

Now before everyone flames and says dont do it because you will blow your engine up, Im not trying to disable it. Im wondering if the guy before me did.

I have an eg with a b18c1 in it. Dont have much info about the swap.

I was out with some buddys and they kept yelling at me to hit the limiter, so I figured id give it a bounce or two cause what harm can happen. It revved to around 8500 and I felt a lack of power, but not a fuel cutoff, or limiter.

Could the tach just be out, because of the swap?

I thought limiter was at 8100? or maybe 8400? As far as I know the ecu is just stock. I could look at it if someone could tell me ways to identify if its been modified.

Car still runs fine, just wanna figure out whats going on so I dont blow my engine up.

The rev limits are controlled by the Ecu calibration. A tuner or someone with experience would need to make the changes.
