Lights all blinking from security system

Ok so I have a security system thing from the previous owner and I don't know whats going on. Theres a switch under the dash and any time it gets messed with alllll the lights on the car including hazards blink repeatedly on and off and for a while my friend could stop it by turning the key back and hitting the switch a few times. It stopped working so I cut the wire to the switch and the stupid lights won't stop blinking. The wire runs up like on top by the fuse box and up in there and Im not sure to what extent. What is this security crap and what do you think it is connected to? I don't want/need it in my car

Not knowing what alarm you have or how it's hooked up, it's about impossible to help you... See if you can ID the car alarm make and model.

You have one of the highest broken into cars in the US, doesn't hurt to have a working alarm.
