maint req flashing

My maint req light started flashing sat. @ a car meet no less. My buddy said it means time for me to change tranny fluid. Is this correct? Looked thru the chilton but found nothing about it. Does the ammount of times it flashes mean anything? Just curious. Any feedback appreciated.:???:

Push a little blue button under the driver side dash.

Its a reminder light for oil changes.

its engine oil. not tranny.

hold the button under the driver's side dash
turn the key to on (dont start)
keep holding till it turns off

its your oil change light means go get a oil change if its due..
just reach under your steering wheel and feel for a small button and hold it till the light goes out and you'll be fine

but you should still check all your other fluids just in case you havent been keeping u with them

yea sorry bout that thats what i actually meant to say but its very hard to miss with your finger so to make it easier just look under first

cool. changed oil 1000 miles ago. I figured it was somethimg like that. I love this site. Thank you all your advice is appreciated
