New alternator, battery light still on

Hey guys,
My alternator failed on me and I replaced it myself with a remanufactured one
Everything seems fine 13.5v+ when the cars on. 12.5v+ when the cars off.
Starts everytime.

I had my battery checked and Its fine and has really good crank amps (Thats what its called I think? :S)

Why would my battery light still be on?

Ive also noticed a lack of acceleration since I installed my alternator. Acceleration feels smoother though.

Any help would be awesome

the lack of acceleration is really worrying me.. Its not super bad like I cant keep up to traffic. It just feels like I have to give it more gas then I did before I replaced it

I've had mine move on me and had to tighten down the bolts to keep it tight. Try a tune up

Did you say that your alternator is putting out 12.5v while the vehicle is off? While it's not connected to the battery?

Or did you mean your battery voltage reads 12.5v?
