NRG Quick Release

I've been looking into getting a quick release and had a couple questions about NRG's. I see there are 3 gens...is the third one worth it? If not which would you recommend. Also, if I do go with a 3G, does the hub lock work with those? Also, where is the best place to buy them new, I was on getnrg and was wondering if it's best to use there site or through a vendor (Site sponsors feel free ;0)

I had a NRG slim hub and the Gen2 quick release with a Momo tuner steering wheel, The steering wheels are interchangeable as long as they have the regular 6 (i think? [it's been a while]) bolts in the same locations, you'd be able to tell instantly... The slim quick release have a slight annoyance with it being a little loose (it jiggles). I didn't have any problems with my G2 Q/R... The locking hub is interchangeable, the ball bearings on all NRG hubs are the same (G1-G2, The slim hub I don't think the lock thingy will work on it, unless they made one specifically for it?).

I was looking at the G3 and getting a lock for it. I need a shorthub for a teg, a quick release, and then a wheel right? (Hub locks extra..ill get a lock for it at some point)

i have the g1 don't have any compliants, and i think most of the pieces are interchangeable but not 100, i know when you see the difference it only looks cosmetic

Correct

My recommendation (You can find these at most auto "tuner" shops... racinglab.com, weaksauce.org are my recommendations [their local to me so i've dealt with them before])

http://www.racinglab.com/nrg-short-hub-acura-002.html

(the 3.5 looks interesting, i never seen this before so i have no experience with it)

or

or

Then

Any of these will work

Any NRG ball bearing QR would probably work pretty well, They used to make (thought they still made it) a slim quick release that you would spin off and it was just a POS.

Odd, I was looking on NRG's website...they don't even have a 3.5 on there. I wanted to get the orange one in color..racing lab's is like 50 cheaper.

I was amazed by it, I think it's designed to look like paddle shifters. But I first thought batman when i seen it.

But after some light research the 3.5 is brand spankin new and the locking hub cover won't work on it.

Dang, it looks JUST like the 3 on getnrg.com...what do you think I should get..?
I thought the slim QR was the 3... I guess I was wrong, Get whichever one you think is best, I think the ball bearing pattern is all the same but have a different front/back part or whatever it's called.

Awesome, thanks for your help, now I just need to figure out if the locks compatible or not..and where to buy it, I'm liking the 3's easy use paddles, but I don't see many retailers selling it with a package deal. Grrr.
