OBD0 to OBD1 distributor wiring

That's the cylinder position sensor. It COULD be a bad sensor but more likely bad wiring/conversion since that's what you are wrist deep into right now.

The research Im finding points to bad conversion harness or wiring in your case.

A few buddies are telling me bad wiring at the distributor as well. I checked resistance all the way to the ecu and it was within spec. I just attached the negative and positive terminals to the negative and positive of the sensor itself (orange and white wires). Anyway, I tried my ecu on a friends car and although at first it kind of bogs out, it runs good. No CEL or anything. I put his ecu (stock) on my car and no CEL 9. I put my ecu on my car and bam after a few cycles of the motor spinning I get the code 9. I am stumped haha. Thanks for the help man.
