obd2 dizzy on obd1 harness

i was looking at my distributor and i found out it was an obd2 dizzy and its connected to obd1 harness with a obd1 ecu. would it be better if i switch it out to a obd1 dizzy. will i be able to connect the obd1 dizzy with no problems cuz i see some wires splice from the obd2 dizzy to the harness.

you should be able to, i assume the obd2 dizzy was just repinned

is the dizzy plug a single plug or 2 plugs? obd1 uses 2 plugs and obd2 uses 1. if they cut the wires and wired the single plug for the obd2 dizzy you would have to de pin or rewire for the dual plug obd1 dizzy. but the dizzys are the same except the plugs so theres no need to really change it.

oh okay well i should of mention this in the first post but im throwing check engine light its a code 8 which is a tdc sensor so i would have to replace the whole dizzy..i was thinking of putting a obd1 dizzy..having a obd2 dizzy on a obd1 car, will it effect emissions at smog check?

ic. well like i said before the only difference between obd1 and 2 dizzys are the harness plugs.
