odd ticking while engine is idleing

Sounds like it could be a belt, just a ticking noise, does not get louder when I rev it to about 3k rpm.
just a ticking basically, any ideas on what it is?

Valves! Not a big deal, get a valve adjustment and it should quiet down, did for me.

Valve adjustment probably! I just got mine done, running great since.

I like to say its fuel injectors in these type of "hey, my car is making ticking noises" threads.

If it sounds like somebody clicking a pen really really fast, then there you got another possibility.

^That's what I was going to suggest. Not to many ways to stop that, the main reason all the new cars have plastic shit all over the engine.
