ditto, that flexy intake piping that looks like it needs viagra needs to go. An AEM cold air, or carbon fiber "whale penis" will look much better. And you said you dropped $4Gs on mostly the tranny and other upgrades? Damn bro but you dished out way to much. I'm rebuilding my B18a1 for my 92 DA coupe from the ground up and have spent a total of around $1,800 into new parts(Hi comp. pistons, tuned ECU, fidanza aluminum flywheel, stage 2 clutch, carbon fiber intake, hathsport mounts, belts, ect), a new tranny, and machining in all. I'm not finished but I won't hit $4Gs. Don't add anymore red parts into the engine other than the valve cover. get rid of any unneeded accesories to clean up the engine bay. Get bolt on upgrades like a Skunk 2 intake manifold and throttle body. Idk buddy that engine looks pretty stock for the amount of money u said you've put into it.

One more thing, relocate the battery out of the engine bay to free up some space. Get some clean 15"s and lower that DA's stance. Just some ideas man.

He clearly said to free up some space.
Not a bad idea either in my opinion, the location of the battery is retarded, being that it's not all the way in a corner like it usually is.
Plus, would help weight distribution, if only slightly.

Can I ask why you wouldn't add anymore red items in there? I think color adds cleanliness to the motor. And I do know that I spent too much, but that is what happens when you don't know a lick about mechanics - you get to pay the pro's to do it. So all you young kids out there - take auto mechanics in high school and save yourself tens of thousands of dollars throughout your life! ;) Oh, and any money that went to the motor wasn't necessarily an upgrade, just improvements (valve cover, timing belt cover, crank pulley, valve adjustment, and cold-air intake tubing). Thanks for the suggestions on the intake, though. For now, what I have doesn't have any holes and it is doing it's job, so that improvement will have to wait.

i have the exact same car, bought it for 300 w/ blown engine, i have replaced everything on it spending 3-4k all together. if you have the time you can fix the car, before i started working on the da i had no idea but you can find directions for fixing/replacing anything and it will save u a hell of a lot for labor charges.... what are they chargin you 30+ an hour? and you can relocate the battery to the trunk just need thick wiring running to the back my bro's civic hatch is setup that way.

and as far as the rust i dont think theres anything you can just spray on there thats going to clear it up, get down there with some sand paper and find out how bad it is

So I get the car back from the shop (brake master cylinder and valve adjustment), and the clicking noise that me engine was making is gone.....NICE!!!! The valve adjustment was worth it (and it's supposed to be done every 30,000 miles or so for all you teggy newbies like me - these things do not self-adjust...fyi). Happy Integra-ing! :)
