Quarter panel rust

Would this be fine to fix with some bondo? Or should i get it cut out and get some new sheet metal welded up? Its rusted on the inside too.

Cut it out and reweld it.

ehh I wouldnt cut that, It doesnt look too bad yet. just sand it real good til you get to shiny metal around the entire spot then prime and paint it temporarily with cheapo paint

Its rusted on the inner side too on the lip you would roll if you rolled your fenders. Thats why i thought it might have gone most of the way through and it would be better cutting. I still need to take it to someone and see how much they would charge to fix it.

If it's surface rust just sand to bare metal and have it painted over. Deep rust is going to be expensive to repair, but bondo usually looks crappy and will crack over time.

You can use a probe and test the strength of the metal and the depth of the rust in that area. If the area starts to get holes or crumble in large flakes the rust is pretty serious. Small flakes and normal metal strength indicates surface rust.
