wat up im not so familiar with this type of stuff but ima be having my motor rebuild pretty soon...its a stock 2000 gsr
it smokes,burns oil
needs a rebuild n want to make a lil more power
i got hook ups on parts n labor.
just need some opinions

i plan on getting itr pistons
skunk2 manifold
switching to obd1 with a p28? or p72? cuz i heard getting a skunk2 on an obd2 is gonna make it run weird due to the butterflys also in the gsr.
gettin some aftermarket motor mounts
header/intake
after braking in the motor i plan on getting a hondata and getting it tuned.

would all this be fine or am i doin something wrong?

just want to make a lil power

Since you're getting it chipped any obd1 ecu will be fine.

You'll need an obd1 jumper harness
abd a few other jumper harnesses (distributor, altenator, injector)

it's not that obd2 will make engine run weird with skunk2 manifold, it's the stock gsr ecu that would.

Btw- you should get some cams, springs, and retainers too

Most of the things you listed arent necessary at all for a "rebuild," but will help in the performance department.

Lets look at some of the things that will be needed in your rebuild.

Block:
Decked and honed (bored out to a MAXIMUM of 82mm if you want, pistons need to match the bore).
Main and Rod bearings (OEM or ACL)
Piston rings (may come with new pistons)
Oil pump (unless your's is still within spec. You can actually rebuild the oil pump to save money)

Head:
Hot tanked and resurfaced.
Valve seals
Check valves for trueness
Valve job (3 angle)
Headgasket
Water pump, timing belt, and tensioner

Anything you want to tack onto that, for power may include what you have listed as well as new Cams and valvetrain (if the cams require it).
