running iPod without deck?

So as some of you know, I recently got my deck jacked and for now I"m just going to put a block off plate and i was wondering if I could run an ipod cord to my speakers? And If I can how would I go about doing this? Thanks

I'm pretty sure it is, just idk how.. My neighbor who does classic low riders does this with his cars, but I havent seen him for a while so I havent had the chance to ask.

You would need a power source of some kind going to the speakers as well as the iPod. I think if you did it as is, your speakers would either be really quiet or not make any sound at all.

(Hence the amp mentioned above.)
I think you'd be better off just getting a new deck lol.

these are instructions to an ipad. but should work with ipods. i'm actually going to do an android rig with similar instructions.
Samsung Epic 4g replacing the clock in my 97 teg.
(for the money i would just get a stereo unit. but it just looks cool docking w.e you have)

the most expensive is the amp and JL Audio CL-RLC

i can get around the amp (get a friend's) but the CL-RLC costs ~70$

and i already have a 7inch dual din unit
dont mind spending extra money to hook my car up a little :)
