Safest way to pull engine

I wanted to get get some ideas and opinions on the safest and most efficient way to attach the chain to the motor to lift it out. What locations should I route the chain? Or where should I bolt the chain to the motor?
I pulling the motor with the trans still attached. Thanks

i just wrapped a tow strap around mine and attached to the hook on the hoist, worked perfect.

I actually like that idea better than using a chain. I might do that instead. Thanks

one goes on the tranny and one to the head.

I used tow straps, one hooked onto the transmission and one looped around the upper motor mount on the other side

ideally the best way to do it is from underneath but any decent engine hoist should do the trick

lift at a angle motor first. i put mine on a lift and raised the car. dropped everything cross member suspension and all very easy
