shifter installed. help

okay so i installed my weighted short shifter tonight and i was wondering if i put the shifter in wrong direction?

does it matter where the bend is facingg?

is the bend suppose to be like that? or the other way around?

does it matter, will it ruin my tranny.

sorry for the door panels currently putting new door inserts

As long as you can still fully get in gear, it will do nothing but look funny. If you shift into first and are not able to shift all the way in, then you will grind and run into problems. You'll be fine with the shifter like this though.

Looks like you put a single bend shifter in though. You should swap it with the dual bend. It will look more like stock that way.

It's supposed to be bent back towards you. I would switch it around. The single bend shifter puts it far enough away from the driver as it is, I wouldn't want constantly have to "reach" for that thing.

yeah i switched it around today, while i did my front brakes :)

how tight should i tighten the nut the holds my shifter and the shift linkage or soemthing?

make it tight enough that it wont come out but make sure its not to tight to keep you from shifting
i would loc-tite that bolt too
i had one come out in a civic one day and had to zip-tie it together to get home
