slave cylinder problem

i removed my slave cylinder in my car n it was out n i pressed the clutch pedal and it went to the floor, is it bad to press the clutch pedal with the slave cylinder out? i heard it was and was woundering what i may have damaged.

your squirting out the fluid when you do that. after replacing, you have to bleed it like what you do with the brakes. itll take a while but itll get firm again.

It's not bad, in a sense.. but as ixcocoyxi said, you will have to bleed it after you reinstall it to get all the air out.
