Thermostat issue!

so my temperature gauge in my dash does not work (move).
is it thermostat or engine coolant sensor?


what are some symptoms i may be experience cause of this?

well its very common for the older integra's to have there coolant sensors go bad, i had the same porblem you did, most likely its your engine coolant sensor its located under the dizzy on the left side of the head, also check the back of your gauge cluster like talon said something might be unplugged. Do your radiator fans turn on?

Yea I check it tomsee if it's connected.

I've never seen my fans turn on? Does that control the fans.?

I haven't really had my fans turn on that often. Maybe if I'm sitting at a drivethrough for hella long on a hot day after driving for a while

If you're worried about the fan itself, then you could hotwire it to make sure it turn on; but that would bypass the rest of the wiring, if there is a short somewhere, that wouldn't test for it

that is what the temperature sensor is for try replacing it,or double checking you're wires.

so i just googled "temperature coolant sensor" and it said theres too sensors?
one for the ecu and one for the gauge. is that right?

Yes that's right. There should be a sensor on the side of your head that controls the gauge like BrokenTalon said. It should be a one wire plug if I recall.
