thick smoke coming out my muffler??

hey i was wondering what can be the cause of thick smoke coming out of my muffler is?
some people said that head gasket can be blown? but i dont think its that.
so if someone knows please inform me. until then i wont have a car to drive :(

Check your oil. If its a milky, salmon-y color, then your headgasket is most definitely blown.

i couldnt tell what color was the smoke cuz it happened at night.
it lasted for like 2 or 3 mins cuz i was in a rush to get home.
and i havent driven the car cuz my pops took the keys from me

well do you ever let the car warm up? normally when you have not driven the car it will come out white smoke for a couple minutes. Do what Jason said and check your oil and see if its milky, if so then your head gasket is probably cracked.

If the car hadn't been run in a little while, it could just be the exhaust from a cold start, simple as that. Otherwise, could be coolant or oil burning, through various parts of the engine.

yea it has been. i had done a radiatior flush and changed the thermostat n put new coolant too and it still over heats.
what do u mean by milky?

You should have told us you were overheating. Yea, probably your head gasket.

$300 is the standard price for a shop to replace it, but ifbits beend doing it for over a month id get the head and block resurfaced.

You know what oil looks like when it goes in? Clear, light brown tint.
And when it comes out? Usually black.

With a blown headgasket, it looks like this. You should be able to tell by opening your oil filler cap, or by pulling the dipstick out.
