So, I recently purchased a Blackworks intake manifold for my 94 GSR and I didn't relize that it has a 70MM inlet. With that being said, I was using my stock GSR throttle body and I kept getting a high idle and didn't know where it was coming from. Checked vaccum leaks, IACV and FITV and even cleaned them and still has an high idle. So, I'm guessing the stock throttle body is way too small and the air is bypassing the FITV because as soon as I put my finger over the bottom hole of the throtlle body, it idle's smoothly. I just got a good deal on a DH 68MM throttle body for $75 with TPS and MAP sensor.
So my questions is, do you think I will have any problems using a 68MM throttle body on a 70MM intake manifold or will i need a 70MM throttle body to match it? Also, will I need to get the engine tuned due to more air flow? Thanks guys for your help! Hopefully this will solve my idle issues and I can get the damn car on the road!
