trunk closes but won't lock

so my 94 gsr trunk closes but won't lock! meaning i can close it but can open it with a pinky! the latch doesn't lock! i was wonderin if it was just a latch problem n just replace it or is it something else? been lookin around and found nothing...any suggestions?

Or could be something as lil n stupid as not putting the latch lever back to the lock position

everything lines up! seems like a latch problem. used a flat to mess with latch n seems it doesn't lock! so guess need a new latch
