vtec on and off

i have a built motor with a golden ls vtec kit. when my vtec turns on at 6000 rpm's it turns on and then off up until 9500 rpm's. anybody know why?????? please post responses. Thanks

You are revving up to 9500 RPM?

What have you done to the block? Has the car been tuned on a Dyno to make sure you even make power up to that mark?

Definitely this. Also, are you loosing oil pressure?

yeah it makes power, but even tho it can rev that high i usually switch gears at 8500 rpm. is it really that im loosing oil pressure???? but why????

and another thing is that it depends on the ecu of how it has been tunned... u can get a vtec controller to set when vtec kicks in

Shifting at 8500? Geeze A good shift for me is at 3500 lol, then again I am non-Vtec

are you saying that vtec engages and then disengages for good or engages and then disengages until 9500? Not sure very clear on this. And once this problem happens does your CEL come on?

need these answered and if you know what your CEL code is (if it triggers) that will also help
