I was going to purchase a crappy car for winters. Seems the cash for "clunkers" took alot of them away and now the price for a high milage car is pretty steep. Instead, i bought a set of winter performance tires and made sure all rust spots were fixed in prep for the snow and salt.

As long as you got a good set of all seasons or snow tires there really is no worrys. That is unless you live in places where you get a foot of snow or more, then it might be more difficult to get around.

mann idk i live in upstate ny, and we can get alot of snow and i drive abt 30 min to workk, i could get new tires but idk dont wanna have a risk of gettin stuck somewhere,

I've got a beater civic that i drive in the winter, its not worth putting my mint integra through the salt of NY roads in the winter. this car has never seen salt and I plan on keeping it that way. these cars are far too rare to let them rot to shit.

I thought I'd import an Xi RT4WD from Japan, unbolt the drive components, cut off the chassis mounts or fab new ones, and swap it onto my USDM Integra.

+1 for suspension. I drive mine in all weather. Every once in a while I drive my beater 92 Escort Wagon. (FTW) in real foul weather or if I don't feel like clutching.
