what would cause a bouncing tach needle??

My tach needle bounces all over the place. Not actually engine speed. just the tach in the cluster itself. and everyday. it runs worse and worse. I have new cap n rotor. wires. icm. coil. im thinking main relay but idk :( please help!!

Clean the iacv
his car isnt doing it at idle.

Its the tach signal being jacked up somewhere. Clean your dizzy connections and check the ground on the thermostat housing. that controls the dizzy. Tighten it up or you will have major problems

funny thing is on my way home tonight the speedo stopped working. fml... but i took that ground off cleaned it. it it dies every 5 mins. tach needle still bounceing.

take your distributor cap off
carefully take the spade connectors off the terminals
crimp them tighter
re-install connectors onto the terminals
put cap back on distributor

problem solved

Hahaha there ya go. Only took about 45 minutes lol. That's what he's talking about. I had to do it to my teg before I left.
