Whining sound when accelerating

My teg is a 95 with 150K + miles. I bought it a few weeks ago.
When I accelerate, I hear sort of a whining sound. If I let off of the gas, it stops. Alternator?

hmm mine does that too
but that is cause its a D15BC under the hood with a shit ton of work on it
and it is only when im up at 4-7K RPM's
so yeah i need a bit more information to know why yours is doing that.
Auto or stick?

Fat guy in a little coat.
TURN YOUR A/C OFF. mines on, sounds like a blow-off-valve-less turbo system. unless its a sqeaky belt. maybe a can from kragen can silence the belt noise. i have aem sri, with or without the stock ai, the whinning is there, so im not too sure its intake.

what happened?

It very well could be the intake like everyone is saying. Aftermarket intakes like AEM, Injen, and PasswordJDM dont have the baffles to quiet it down like the stock intake. Hence the whine.
