Car won't start

So last night my 1997 gsr would not even crank over. I'm thinking it's the starter but how would I know for sure, and what other possible complications could I be having?

Battery dead?

Is there any broken plastic on the driver side floor mat?
The switch for the clutch is pressed by a plastic crayon looking thing attached to the clutch pedal.
Maybe it broke

check your battery. If battery is weak then It is common problem.
