i'm not trying to 'hate' but...lol ok, i guess you just got this car, so ill give you time to get those rusted things taken care of (a little sanding and semi gloss black paint = sexitime

also covering what you covered isnt necessary. if your distributor cap gets moisture in it...that means it was time for you to do a tune up/replace it. i've never had issues and i never cover anything..only thing i move out the way is my HID kit and i'm almost certain i dont even need to do that

but all in all good right up dude
covering it isnt a horrible idea to avoid it cracking. The tempertures that little piece of plastic have to deal with are LEGENDARY.

that's old brittle pieces that would have needed replacing IF it cracks. any part that's good will not crack
