Update... Tried a different ECU, and that wasn't the problem, checked my fuses again, and everything was good. So I somehow bumped my main relay, and all of a sudden the CEL goes out, turns out it was a broken wire leading into the main relay. Problem fixed.

No, unfortunately, best I could probably do is post up on some local forums. I'm going to pull the ECU in the daylight hours, and see if I notice anything obviously wrong with it, beyond that I have no idea how I can diagnose/test it unless as you suggested borrow one.

On your overheating issue, just to cover bases, but did you make sure there is no air in the system? Air is notorious for causing overheat issues in the coolant dept. Also, is there coolant in there or just water? Just wondering if you covered those steps first. Check your fluids, if your PS res...

Virgin or extra virgin? The temperature thing I was told about while living in Alaska, because thinner oil doesn't become too thick and can still do its job.

I run 5w30, unless I'm up north and it's winter, then it's 0w30. If I remember correctly, oil has a temperature level and the colder it is will effect your oil.

k24 will not fit, k20 will with the stock hood. There is aprox. 1 inch of clearance difference on the k24 and k20. Date, that is in the considered options. I have been researching my things, but most I was turning up with was cowled hoods or aftermarket hoods for the k24 nothing definite...

Actually, I'm not going on this half cocked, the hood fitment is the deciding factor. Being this is CI, I figured I would ask here, out of 75k users I would guess there is a couple around who have seen a k24 in a 2nd gen.
