take the radiator out and you can pull the manifold close enough to the front of the car where you can drop it straight down and not have to unbolt the 2 halves

My stock header came out in one piece with the radiator still in. Just takes some creative finagling

i got mine out as well, but when i changed my buddies 01gsr stock header, it was a PITA such as the OP describes and thats how i managed to get it off. actually, i think i just removed the fan?

Would it be easier to pull it out from underneath?

I finally got the dam thing off. Took the fans and radiators out. lots of room now lol.

Broke a extension and my ratchet today trying to break the bolts loose on the head.

Would it be better to take the intake off along with the head as one piece or take it off the head?
