If a gsr head fits a LS block, obviously the reverse would be true Ganyon... Go back to your light up dash.

I'm still curious as to what kind of power you would get out of a c1 block and b1 head.

Very wrong. Hp is not from a block, it is from everything. Also, compression also comes from a combination of the head and the block, not one or the other.

Now, maybe the op has been driving it like its a gsr and the head can't handle the higher revs? Maybe? And in turn he has a bent valve or something.

Snapping a timing belt will bend a valve. Lol he has a p75 ecu so it will cut out at 7500

Checked my ECU, its a P72. The problem resolved itself.
