update: now it hesitates almost all of the time now...but does it worse when the engine gets to normal temp.

do you guys think it could be the fuel pump? it still hums when you turn the ignition on but its quiet

fuel pumps usually dont give any warning signs of failing.

what kind of wires did he use? does he have any other mods? check for vacuum leaks / cracked hoses.

that makes sense...what would be making him run lean?

the fuel filter and o2 sensor is new

injectors?
