intake manifold and header on an ls

so i have a blox intake manifold and header (open downpipe) how can i pull some more power out of the ls without porting the head? suggestions?

Howabout putting an exhaust on? Our LS motors need a little back pressure man.

ya i no i need a gasket for the header when i put the exhaust on, it has a wicked leak

It's a little donut looking gasket, $4.99 @ auto zone

Straight 2 1/4 Piping with a stock muffler will give you some back pressure and at the same time will give you that nice loud ricer can noise!

Yea those are available online. Get an exhuast system, do you have an intake or anything?

Wait, I thought too big of an intake on an LS motor was counterproductive?

Hmm, I think he'd be alright, but exhaust would be my first preference, a nice sound, a bit of function, can't beat that.

Youre trying to move a lot of air that the LS simply cant. You can keep doing these breather mods, but they will have diminishing returns until you do some internals. A bump in compression will help (pistons), a slightly larger bore will increase displacement (but also lower compression) and bigger cams will allow the engine to pull in more air.
