Did you ever get out to an event? Last weekend the last of the local clubs finished their seasons before the snow starts. If not then plan on going to one of the novice schools held each spring in Chicago or Milwaukee. Chicago holds theirs end of Mar start of Apr, and Milwaukee in mid April. There are 5 autox clubs within 90min of Chicago to keep anybody happy.

i wouldn't worry what class just go out and make laps. Here in pa they have like 5 or 6 tracks within 30 min circle.

at carlisle import show they have a mini tight track and its a demo so who ever is there runs together in a jam format. last year i finished third overall behind a rx8 and a fully built c6 vette. lol

great lakes autocross schools

Very few run cages in autocross due to the added weight and street driving danger (if daily driver).

For anybody wanting to get into the sport now's the perfect time of year to jump in with novice schools just starting (St Louis was last weekend)

Chicago 4/10 & 4/11
Chicago Region Solo drivers school is an excellent way to learn about and become involved in Solo events. It is a two‑part school that consists of a classroom session and a day and a half of on track instruction. Instruction will be provided by experienced, award winning drivers (many with National Championship credentials). Because the entry is limited to only 100 students, there will be a very favorable student/teacher ratio allowing for maximum driving time and personal instruction. The school is for novice drivers with less than one year or no solo experience. Students must attend both days.
