Well I completely lost my ignition key for my acura. What hopes do I have being able to start and drive my car anymore?

they can do that?Go to your nearest Acura dealer, show them your Registration, and they'll cut your a new key.

the dealer i went to just needed the vin off of my car, i already had one blank, i got an acura one form the dealer and both blanks cut for $6

Must be nice. I tried getting that done and they told me they only kept the records back 15 years and I was SOL...

That's bullshit, they were trying to fuck you. They key itself wouldn't sell for less than $15(bought replacements for my DB1, Ej, and DB7 from Acura and Honda for that price) if it had that chip.I lost my key once and they told me 75$ bucks for it.
They even asked me to tow the car to there dealership because they can only make that key with the car there.
The key has an ignition chip and that's what cost so much.
Luckily I found it.
