Need help with 93 integra problem

i had a similar problem i had to change my T stat and fan switch relay because my fans were not coming on to cool the engine. and the coolant wasn't being circulated properly... when i stopped at a red while the engine was hot the rpms would slowly drop and try to stall..... check ur thermostat and fan relay and fan switches.

Yeah I got a new thermostat for it but its still heats up quite a bit. I guess I'll get the head gasket fixed to see if thats the problem.

there is also the rare occurance that has to do with when your fans are sent the signal to turn on/off.... there are 2 switches that control when the fans turn on and off... and i've heard that the one that tells the fans to come on, goes bad and will no longer know the proper time to turn on because some sensor isn't getting the signal that its hot under the hood.... thats what i had to fix. but if your thermostat is already replaced and your fans are running then a head gasket would be a good second bet. good luck.
