^^he replies with the quickness lol i appreciate it

bout to say eff it cause i wanna run hondata and that wouldnt pass emissions. ill skip the bullshit and do it right. ill deal with emissions when its time. its too difficult to pass emissions. some guy on TI says hes got a friend who has a boosted obd2 car that passed. got it tuned at T&S in fredrick, anyone familiar?

True. Depending upon the area, they typically don't get into all of it. All they look for is the main sticker for the car and all of its components.

Obd2 is an option, but it can be an expensive one, depending upon the year. Usually OBD1 is the best way to go, and can still use the diagnostic port for your testing. But your tune will need to be dead on.

the port wont disappear when you put an obd1 ecu in there. im obd1, so i dont know where the port is, but in my gf's civic its under the radio where the ashtray is. greddy makes an informeter that is badass and plugs into that port. i want that.

wait so your saying the obd2 port will still be there, but wont work? if obd1 has a port cant veip plug into that?

Just about every ECU that is decoded to the point of almost turning in it into standalone engine management system capabilities are OBD1 ECU's. Hondata (Kseries being the exception) and DSMlink all work only on OBD1 ECU's. Jim Wolf Technology is one of the the only companies that continues to crack any ECU and can get it to do anything......of course they specialize in Nissan so it does us no good

Some maunfacturers are just stingy........Mitsu and Subaru...:(

okay so you guys know my exhaust is gone. so since im planning boost i might as well get large enough pipes. im thinking 2.5 inches. what do you suggest between hytech catback with the twinloop or the T1R straight through?

oh okay. other than Thermal who makes a 3" catback? i might go to altered atmosphere and get custom 3"

EDIT: nevermind i like the thermal rd

is the greddy emanage a stand alone or piggy back? i was told that emanage will work incredibly well doing obd2 + boost..true?

its technically a piggyback. its a good unit, but you have a gsr, so i recommend the v manage instead. its the same thing, but more setup for the valve timing. also, wtf is my sig not working! lol

so greddy vmangage and obd2 or p28 + hondata and obd1? again im shooting for about 300whp.

EDIT: will a spoolin log manifold support this and last? or should i pop the extra $200 for an inline pro manifold. i plan on driving over there tog et the work done.

It is a the a really good piggyback. It still runs in parallel with the stock ECU but has the software to adjust multiple engine aspects instead of crap like the VAFC. Don't waste your time with a V-manage. The Greddy V-Manage is only compatible with i-VTEC. I believe the support is Kseries oriented only so for. The basic E-manage and E-manage Ultimate are VTEC compatible and you can get a plug and play harness for it. That make is it very easy to install.

I have an E-manage Ultimate for sale but the PnP harness is for a 4G63 DSM. But honestly, I wouldn't bother with any Emanage in a Honda considering the price of it, the harness and the fact that you would still need a boost controller.

I had the E-manage Ultimate in my Eclipse GSX and it worked great. I just eventually upgraded to DSMlink for more precision in tuning and datalogging. You would just be better off going OBD1 and get atleast an Hondata S200 with boost control and datalogging

Your manifold should be fine

geeze guys sorry for asking TOO many questions but im just trying to learn and work this all out. i was told that the turbo patrick suggested, t3/t04e 60 trim with a .63 ar, is too big. they said i should go with 57 or 50 trim. can you explain turbo sizing a little more for me? ive read turbo 101 at the garrett website but i just need someone to say it flat out.
this is the turbo im looking at buying:

Garrett T3/T04E Turbo
Starting from $619 USD shipped in Canada or USA

Turbine:
Available housings: .48 ar, .63 ar, .82 ar
Standard 270 degree thrust bearing
Stage 1, 2, 3, 5 turbine wheel

Compressor:
Available Housings: .50 or .60 ar
Available Wheel Trims: 46trim, 50 trim, 57 trim, 60 trim
http://www.ctsturbo.com/turbochargers.php
^^link of the website. how can i tell what the turbine bolt pattern is? does T3 mean the inlet and T4 the outlet? is turbine bolt pattern the same as "4-bolt discharge?"
im ready to place an order for a manifold so its asking 4 bolt or 5 bolt.
OR could you recommend a specific turbo?
