s***, a hot knob should make you shift faster , but just grab a small kids wristband, and put it around the knob, i have a type R knob and in the summer i just throw a TMNT wrist band on it and its all good lol

When i put my STS in i had to cut a small part of the heat shield out and it only gets hot after the car sits from driving. Never hot in the sun. i dont think switching from a test pipe to cat would make a difference?

If you need a shift knob that won't get so hot, you can tool dip it. I have a Circuit Hero knob that is like a freaking fire ball after it's been in the sun during the summer. So I have a cheap ebay Mugen knock off knob I tool dipped for when the CH is hot enough to cook a steak on.
