Which header style is better?

Hey guys new here to the site and i just recently bought a 98 Teg LS. Its going to be my little fix up project ( i will be posting pics tomorrow).

But i need help on choosing a type of header. Which are better, 4-1 or 4-2-1? Also ceramic or stainless steel? Thanks for the help!

4-2-1 = more mid range, less top end
4-1 = less mid more top end

IMO 4-2-1 because you have an LS that doesnt rev that high, so mid range is more important. Also since theres less flow overall in a LS the 4-2-1s dont restrict power much in the top end anyways.

Nice article, def proves 4-2-1 or tri y is the best for an LS motor

I prefer 421 just cause I can lower my car more and not scrape my header. 41 header hangs lower than 421.

i preffer JDM itr 4-1 with heat shield for street and Hytech for track

think of it like this, if you take funnels and position them pyramid style, 4 - 2 -1 and 4 - 1, which one would flow more efficiently if you dumped water into the top 4? 421 ftw
