CA drivers Help!

I recently got a 90 ls integra. its in decent condition, but its definetly a I would like to do things to improve performace, but CA car laws are so strict. Any suggestions on things to do that will improve performace but will keep it street legal and pass smog still?

My advice would be to make sure any aftermarket parts you get for the car are CARB Exempt and have EO numbers. That will keep it legal as far as smogs go.
