Check engine light, evap code. This maybe?

About a month ago my check engine light came on for what i thought was the purge solenoid, but i guess i was wrong. Last night i noticed a large hole in what i presume is the honda equivalent to a charcoal canister. I've also noticed that my car has been riding a little bit rougher around 3500 rpms or so, and maybe this has something to do with it. Also i feel like my gas mileage has decreased. I believe what caused the hole was from the previous battery i had corroded down onto the canister and made that hole. Thoughts?

i guess i wasn't clear on my question. Would that hole cause a code to be thrown, decrease gas mileage, or cause my car to ride rougher? Also how much one would be to replace.

Used one cost me around $50. Exact same thing happened to mine. Corrosion powder from the battery eats away at the plastic.
