Dry Cell/Odyssey Battery

I was reading about Odyssey/dry cell batteries...do you have to charge them w/ 'dry cell battery chargers' or can a conventional battery charger be used?

Yes and no. Most modern smart chargers will work fine to brush up an AGM battery, and work fine for trickling as well...so long as they have the proper ratings. But, a standard type battery charger will struggle to work and potentially ruin a deeply discharged AGM battery though. It really depends what kind of shape the battery is in and what you are trying to do to it.

If it's really drained (>10.5v), it most likely won't work. I have never used an Odyssey (I use Optima), but I'd be willing to bet they behave the same way...both being AGM batteries. I know Optima has a specific recommended method for deep charging depleted batteries. The method is probably on their website, I'm not sure if the Odyssey is any different.
